Reviews For Coming Back Home
Author's Response: Thank you :)
I have been crying the whole time reading it. It wasn't the kind of crying like "Oh, this is sad." it was real heart-wrenching and it was GOOD. Your writing, all the heart and emotion you put into it, moved me more than I can put into words. I would say, this was a masterpiece, but that wouldn't be doing it justice because this was real, this was - if I may say so - what your own experience has put into your heart. And I want to say thank you again. You are right, we all have lost someone in some way and reading this chapter, no, really reading all the chapters leading up to it, has been an experience I would not want to miss. This was beautiful and so full of love and healing. Thanks with all my heart. I hope writing this also helped yourself even if only a bit and I wish you strength and joy with all my heart and, that said, I know I am rambling and, second, I hope nothing that I wrote has given you grief or overstepped a line. Author's Response: Thank you so so so so much!! I got emotional reading your words and it means a lot to me that you think all of those wonderful things about my writing, really. And don’t you even worry about overstepping or anything. The best thing that this story has brought me is the connection with other people and reading about their feelings and about their own stories of grief and loss. It makes me feel less alone and gives me perspective and strength in a way. So don’t worry at all! And yes, it has helped me writing this story. Like, a lot. And I’m sure it will continue to do so in the future. I only wish that it can do the same for others, even if just a bit, so you telling me that it has moved you and everything is the best compliment someone could give me :) Thanks again for your kind words and I hope you have a good day! *hugs*
Author's Response: Thank you for your comment! And yes I’ve tried to make both funerals similar but different at the same time, depending on who it was. And I thought her colleagues telling stories about her and everyone laughing or smiling , remembering the good times, was very on brand with Tonks. I think she would have liked that :)
Author's Response: Thank you! I’m happy you appreciated the tree idea and the conversation between Harry and Snape :) Have a good day!
Author's Response: Thank you for your comment, I’m happy you liked it! And maybe, or maybe not ;)
Author's Response: Thank you! I’m glad you liked it :) And it shouldn’t take long for me to update the next one. Probably next week!
She knew that she was saying goodbye when they left and she knows that she must be strong in order to do what she must for Teddy’s sake. I’m glad she did refuse and give Harry pause to think about the stone in a different way. Thank you for a wonderful chapter Author's Response: Am I evil if I get happy when I make someone cry? :P Sorry about that, but it is a huge compliment :) And thank you for your words about Andromeda! I never had every single part of the story planned out but her not needing/wanting to use the Stone was something that was clear in my mind. I wanted to write an opposite reaction to the Weasleys. The canon information about her rising Teddy and choosing to live, even after losing everyone she loved, made me think that she was the perfect candidate. Anyway, thanks for reading and for the comment, hope you are having a good day :)
Author's Response: Thank you! I am feeling better, fortunately. I even went back to work which... could have waited a few days hahah And I'm happy that you liked Ginny's advice. I love her character and, even if her relationship with Harry is not the main focus of this story, I still want to do justice to them and her character. And you will get your wish about Snape and Harry really soon, I'm updating now ;)
Firstly, I'm very sorry for your loss. I know it was a little while ago now, but still wanted to offer my sympathies. In answer to your question, I did think Snape would be there. He wanted to pay his respects to Lupin and Tonks, and wasn't going to let Harry get in the way of that. Perhaps McGonagall already told him of the funeral, before Harry did. I wasn't surprised at all about Andromeda. She's quite wise. I do think that, although Snape's comments about replacing James were uncalled for and rather below the belt, he very much doesn't want Harry's help and Harry was a tiny bit patronising in the way he phrased his invite to the funeral. No one likes to be told something is good for them. I think Snape was willing to help Harry but has no intention of help going the other way and Harry kept pressing where he should have backed off. Anyway, great fic. Keep up the good work! Author's Response: Thank you for your words :) Regarding my mum's passing, even if it was a while ago it still hurts so I'm grateful for you sympathies <3 Focusing on the story, I like the way you read the characters and some sublte (or not so much) ways in which I write them. The part about Harry being patronizing was totally intentional and you are the first one to comment on that. I love him but, with someone like Snape, that's the worse thing you can do if you want him to listen! Anyway, hopefully the next update won't dissapoint. Thanks again for your words and have a good day!
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm updating the next chapter now :) |
