This fic is wonderful!  You have a gift of writing character's emotions without making them OOC.  I think your portrayl of Harry as an abused child is spot on, and heartbreakingly realistic.  And then friendship/mentorship dynamkic you've created between Snape and Harry is fantasic- having one survivor saving another.

Really, this is an absoluetly wonderful story.  I can't wait to read more!

It would be adorable if, later on, Harry and Hermione were to get together. They've always seemed like they suited each other better than anyone else would. I also have a slightly ultirior motive for asking this. There is a serious lack of good stories with Severus in a parental role that invole a Harry/Hermione relationship. I'm honestly hoping that you're heading that way, and are going to put Ginny with Neville, not Harry. The sixth book was atrocious, was it not? I, and many of my colleagues, felt that way. Let's hope you can do better.
