Ah, a great angsty chapter--my favorite kind! Let's have Severus get more insight into his cruel behavior, share more with Harry, and even do some growing!
Keep up the good work!
I really like that Severus finally admitted that he is seriously screwed up and I think he actually wanted Harry to leave realizing that he was a danger to him. But Harry's toughness and bravery shone through. Harry realizes subconsciously that Severus needs him and that he needs what Severus can give him in time. I enjoyed this exchange which just shows Harry's resiliancy. "Harry knew he should have seen that coming, but he thought quickly. "Then please, please don't put any cream or honey on it. I hate them. Sugar, too."" You have created quite a compelling Harry in this story.
Yeah, this chapter was the best so far, I think. Awesomeness.
This chapter was amazing. Both Snape and Harry are both kind of screwed up, and I love the way you show that their screwed upness kind of slots in together, so that they seem to (hopefully) be able to function.

I can not tell you how much I love this story, and this chapter was the best yet. I have to say that I *almost* expected harry to call Snape "father" of his own accord when they were hugging, though.
Loved it to pieces.
Poor Snape, he isn't used to these kind of situations. I'm glad things seem to have gotten back on track, poor Harry was really upset before.
I really have to wonder about what is going on outside the house. I also wonder how things will be once Hry returns to Hogwarts. Hope to see the next chapter soon to read more!
wow this was a great chapter and snape does have a caring side to him, the way he held harry was almost fatherly, snapes trying hard not to care but in his heart, he cares about harry very much

Wow. Powerful chapter. Absolutely wrenching, to hear Snape tell Harry he hates him. I wanted to smack Snape, but then I felt so bad when he felt remorse over it later. You are doing such a brilliant job witih this story. it is completely compelling.
I loved the bit with the dog. And I loved Snape and Harry hugging. This was just such a great chapter. Thanks for sharing it with us.
I didn't like this one at first, but I am glad I stuck with it. Those are two mixed people. Both have been hurt and abused. Severus is more messed up because his abuse came from his father and, to some extent, from Dumbledore.
This is great.
