Ah, manipulation. The Headmaster is truly evil.
Loud guffaws are leaving my mouth! This is hilarious and brilliant!
I laughed outright at the very end. At first I was sort of upset that these last couple of chapters haven't been Harry/Snape centric but I enjoy your writing so much that I love these chapters anyways.
This was a fantastic chapter. I love the banter between Harry and Snape and their insecurities there after.
Just great, please write more, you are brilliant.
Oh no! Ron's so good at chess but he can't understand Severus' moves. I would stay up all night and read this but I think it'd be sweeter to save for tomorrow and read all day!
Fantastic. I love how Severus talks Ron into permanent detention.
Good Lord, I cried and cried at the end of this chapter. I love all of your stories. Can't wait to finish this one!

Hmmm...very good. I think Snape was a bit "softer" than in canon. And there did seem to be an awful lot of spanking, esp. for ~ 12 year olds. But I think Ron did have it right, though--boys would rather take a few cracks and have it over and done with, and there is a difference between being spanked and getting beaten. ("Getting killed" bit not really "getting killed") :-)
My favorite part was I think the alternative way that Harry dealt with the basilisk. I don't believe I've never thought about it before, but why *didn't* Harry talk to it when he was in the Chamber? The way you had it play out makes so much sense.
Great story!
