That was soooo sweet! And up to the point where Severus started singing, I even think it was quite well in character.
That singing part was a bit too much for me. Afterall, there were so many students in the Great Hall and could have heard him and second, Harry is 13 years old, really not the age where you sing to them anymore.
But apart from that I really loved this story ^^

This was fantastic. I had tears in my eyes at the end. Keep up the good work with all of your stories. I immensly enjoyed reading this story.

Gramatically and flow-wise, you're pretty good. Among other things, you used 'lay' correctly (I can't tell you how much that irks me, improper use of lie/lay) and your quotation marks were done well.
But there are a few things that you chose to include which leave me a bit puzzled - mainly your changes to canon, such as adjusting Minerva's age and prematurely killing off Sirius. I know you've written at least one more fic and I'll assume that you need the modification for your later plotlines. However, you might want to note that in the beginning of this as it can confuse. And, with Snape, I'm just not sure that he would actually do what you had him do, nicer or not. If he can't reveal his love for Harry in public, I don't know that he would sit down in the middle of the Great Hall (I'm sure Harry wasn't the only one who wasn't sleeping) and sing him a Christmas carol/lullaby. And, frankly, sort of like the guy or not, if one of my professors had begun to pet me in the middle of the night (and when I was 13!)...Let's just say I wouldn't have leaned into it.

You've done some serious messing with canon, there.... Minerva Mcgonagall is (quoting JKR) a "sprightly seventy" when Harry starts at Hogwarts. Wouldn't it be possible to substitute a canon character the correct age, instead? The Harry Potter Lexicon can offer you some options, I'm sure.
