    I can understand where Harry is coming from but I can also see that he is operating under a lot of misconceptions.

    I completly agree with Elfwyn's review and I wondered about the same things before. Harry gets conflicting messages all the time. Also his self-esteem should be a major point of concern for his parents/ healers etc which doesn't seem to be the case to me. Especially Severus should understand his insecurities better considering he himself still has issues with his father.
    I can only repeat what Elfwyn said: Please give Harry's caretakers some common sense and a bit more compassion for Christmas.

    There have been passed some time since the hidden marks and you don't even know what Severus and Ivy did in that time to assure Harry what is important and what not. Next chapter you will hear more about it.

    And again I can only say that Severus and Ivy are just human. They make mistakes and learn from them. Some things from your past will always influence you as much as you try to change. Therefore this was the way Severus reacted as impulsive as he did. Teachers and educators often are the worst parents. At least that's what my friends, who had teachers or educators as their parents, tell me.

    I must say I like Severus and Ivy like they are with their little mistakes. Many kids would be happy to have parents like them.

    It seems to me it is not Harry's fault, he is getting two different messages from both his parents and his teacher. First they tell him any grade is ok but then they harp and wanted to flunk him when his grades were not up to par or below average. Is it any wonder the kid is confused! And why would Severus be surprised that a child, any child, would want to do something other than constantly study to just keep up! Holidays were meant to be a break for the students--a vital mental break. And of course Harry wants time to be with the friends he now doesn't have time for, doesn't room with and can't even talk too casually as he is made to live at home!

    For smart people who have been around children for years they don't seem to know them very well. As well they might be caring for Harry's physical health but they don't seem to care much for his mental one.

    Please give your healers, teachers, and the Snapes some common sense and a bit more compassion for Christmas.

    I think that in this set of circumstances the spanking was warranted. I wish that Harry had spoken to his family about his concerns; perhaps if he had they would have been able to help him out. I'm just glad that Severus was able to get to Harry in time and that he will be okay. Harry needn't worry about being sent away, though, because he is their child and they would never do that. They love him far too much.

    You're rihght, it did fit, in fact, Sev showed a lot of contol, every time harry opened his mouth, he put his foot in deeper, don't want to study,lying, using pass, wow, sev was really restrained. Can't wait to see what happens next.

    As a parent, I know exactly what Severus is feeling. You just saved them from whatever stupid thing they were doing and you want to kill them at the same time. Harry had "tunnel vision." Only seeing the small picture, not what could or would happen. Thank God Severus got to him in time. Wonderful chapter!
