Reviews For When the Boat Comes In
Author's Response: Thanks ^^ I'm really glad you enjoyed it
I hope that Severus will use this time well and show Harry that he is worth being cared for. Harry needs the caring support of an adult to truly learn that what his relatives taught him was wrong. He is a wonderful child and deserves to be loved and treated well. Great chapter! Author's Response: Thanks for the review. I'm glad you enjoyed the letters. Yes, it's sad that Harry finds it hard to believe that people care about him but, after all he's been through, it's a natural response. Draco, of course, being as fiery as his father, is the most direct and, therefore, his message is very clear lol!
Author's Response: Thanks for the review; thought that the 'ice-cream' chapter might be a good foil, considering how depressing the next chapter was. Harry was going down-hill slowly but surely from the second week of term, i.e. early September, and, as he was pretty woebegone from the beginning of his Hogwarts education, most of the teachers just thought that's the way Harry was and Severus was too tied up with his teaching duties and his work for the Order to notice the subtle changes. I expect some of the teachers would have just assumed Harry's sadness was due to the fact Halloween was approaching but the kids, who had seen Harry start to go downhill in early September, wouldn't have thought it likely to be linked with Halloween.
Author's Response: Thanks ^^ I hope you continue to enjoy the story
Looking forward to the next one! And your very welcome! I'm enjoying your story. Author's Response: Thanks for the review ^^. I'm glad you're enjoying the story :)
What is going on with the fish and the song from Severus' childhood? It is almost like he is being haunted. And poor Harry seems to be under a curse. Looking forward to more. Author's Response: As Severus was young (5-6) when his father died, the things that Severus most remembers of his Da are 1. his father's 'fish cooking' song, 2. the smell of cooked fish and 3. the feeling of security and love. Lets just say that the more depressed Harry became, the more severely Severus was haunted by the smell of fish, the song and, last but not least, the dreams.
Author's Response: Thanks ^^ They are based, to some extent, on letters I and my brothers sent to my parents and the letters my parents sent to their grandparents :)
Author's Response: Thanks for the review ^^
Author's Response: Thanks for the review. Yes, definately: however, although Harry will never totally get over the abuse, he can be healed to a great extent |
