Harry had a great birthday. I especially liked the balloons. I'm glad that he and Severus seem more at ease with each other.
It sounds like it would benefit Harry to learn legilmancy and occulmency. At least learning it with Severus shouldn't be such an ordeal now.
Severus would be more at ease in this situation. He has a role to play at Hogwarts and he doesn't in this situation. He also needs to change his relationship with Harry so he would want to be civil for that as well.
Severus doesn't seem like the curly-hair kind of guy. I wondered why the Dursleys had cooperated with Harry staying at Tom's house. The meeting with Severus went reasonably well. No doubt having Lily and Tom there helped smooth things over.
Harry is getting surprise after surprise. I liked that Snape gave Hermione and Ron detentions that they would enjoy. Since he had set them up, it seemed fair. I enjoyed the "Lion, Witch and Wardrobe" reference, too.
I like the Gandalf and Saruman code. Someone knows their Tolkein. I had wondered whether Moody was Moody or Barty Crouch Jr. I also wondered why James Potter wasn't brought back, too. Looking forward to more.
Interesting. This AU is totally different. This must all be a huge shock to Harry. It probably won't be hard to act half-asleep since he is going to be too dumbfounded to say much of anything.
