Oh, that was really good. I liked the faint bittersweet melancholy at the end, as Severus pondered what might have been.
Author's Response: Thanks, Kristen. I wrote the ending at least twice. I was first going to have it end kind of hauntingly as if it was a flashback for Snape after the war, but decided against it. I'm glad you liked it, though.
