I wonder how Harry will react when he learns who the woman is? Severus won't be able to keep it from him forever.
I'm glad that Severus got there in time to save Harry's life. It's really too bad that Harry has been forced to be so self-reliant for so many years. It is really hard for him to ask for help now and it is to his detriment sometimes.
What a promising start, I'm looking forward to reading more!

I cannot believe that Dumbledore is actually threatening to send Harry back. Even if it is only to get Severus to take the child, to even mention doing so is repugnant. The Weasleys wouldn't hesitate to take Harry in and despite Dumbledore's 'worries' about the level of protection there, that is nothing that cannot be changed. Wards can be stregthened, after all. I do agree, though, that having someone who's focus is only on him is needed by Harry.
Very good story. Well written. You're keeping Snape in character (or at least as I perceived him). Looking forward to more chapters.
