While I would have loved to keep reading more, this isn't a bad place to end. You've given them the tools to make it, and though it's not 'closure' in a psychological sense it feels like potential, which is better.
This was one of the best fanfics I've ever read. It was inventive in using the source material, it lived within but also expanded the 'rules' of the source universe-- Accio Soul is going to stick with me. It's so direct and fantastic and devastating and I wish, wish, wish it had been canon, it's so perfect. Erasmus was a lovely twist on Snape's character, Harry and Hermione was so wonderful. Mr and Mrs Granger, though, were the best part of this story. Considering HP is so much a story about 'love' and 'family' it's always been interesting to me that Harry really never receives any good example of what pure love in the real world really works like. The Weasleys are good to him but they arrive as a unit and he's only ever on the edges with them, a guest, someone they knew before he knew them. Dumbledore (whom I thought you captured so essentially) loves an idea of Harry, and only sees Harry as Harry in small snatches, if at all. James and Lily were martyrs, yes, but they're not real to Harry. Sirius was unfit at best. It's such a huge responsibility to make Harry the receptacle and the director of an entire universe of 'love' with no real guideposts for it. I just kept wishing the Grangers were real, because they felt entirely real. Human and performing an almost inhuman feat, caring for those broken children. You wrote something really wonderful in them.
Fantastic. Just fantastic.
