    I really appreciate how Lupin checked up on Harry. That always felt like something he should have done. And biggest thanks for the reminder of “Good Night, Mr. Tom”. I read it as a young child and always remembered the story, but not the title or author. So thank you for reconnecting me with a childhood favorite.

    This story was really good, I loved the way it was Lupin that went to get Harry rather than Snape, it seemed more likely than the other way round! Would the book perhaps be "Goodnight Mister Tom" by Michelle Magorian? If so, it's my favourite book (other than HP) too.

    Yeah I thought so too. I didn't like that Lupin never went to check on Harry, so I wrote my little "what if" piece about it, and this is what came of it. And it is indeed Goodnight Mister Tom! Sorry Harry, but Willie is my original abused little British boy who lives in the cupboard under the stairs. :P
