It's excellent. I really enjoyed it. I have to say that I find Dumbledore's judgements, everyone's a little harsh. From you are decribing, he had a flashback. Temporary insanity. He NEVER meant to hurt actual Harry like that.
I keep checking every day for an update...
Very interesting start, I'm looking forward to seeing where you go with this.

This is an incredibly interesting idea and one that was a probability all through the books really, I can't wait to see where you take this ^^ (Can't help feeling bad for Snape even if he did deserve it all and more but he'll probably be his own harshest critic in the end ^^)

Wow. I liked the inclusion of Lily. I like the forced choices Snape has to face now. This is a very unique and enticing scenario.
One could argue that Snape went well above any acceptable or forgivable behaviour, and should never, on any circumstance be allowed any interaction with Harry at all - but then what would be the fun in that? Yes maybe that would be the right thing to do but this scenario is far too interesting and wonderfully new to even think about not reading more.
It is extremely difficult to set up the situation, and you did a good try. I hope that your readers will be willing to look past those difficulties and just enjoy the story.
I hope for much angst, drama, and healing scenes. Very excited for the continuation of this story.
I believe that Snape should have more restrictions placed on himself to ensure Harry's safety, such as a house elf watching over them at all times, frequent reporting to Dumbledore or others of what goes on, or legilimency probes by Dumbledore... or more.

Woooooow!!! What a mess! It didn't seem in character that Snape would hurt harry like that, but if he was having some sort of mental problem or was cursed and thought it was James... and a fair fight. That makes more sense. What a mess!!!
Yep,Sev is definately in trouble "DEEP" here. He is amazingly lucky that Albus didn't just blast him into the next century. Although I do think that Albus has it right that caring for Harry could be a life sentance (even after he wakes up--as I am sure you won't leave him a complete veggie--I'm trusting you here!)
