I don't understand. If MM has been watching the Dursleys all day, why is Harry still at Godric's Hollow?
Author's Response: I tried with this to stick as close to the original storyline as possible, where Mcgonagall was at Privet Drive when Dumbledore came to drop Harry off, but with this I kind of thought that it might take a while to secure the area and get all the protections in place to ensure Hary would be safe to be moved to Privet drive- a bit waffly and confusing but hopefully that should answer your question :p
One portrait found! 2 more to go. Minerva's story about her girlhood and Grindelwald was interesting. I wonder if Voldemort knows about the portraits?
Snape really needs to get a familiar to deal with those pesky, intrusive Death Eater animagi. A cat or an owl would have taken care of that little problem right away. ;)
That was neat. I like that we have Harry's unexpected discovery of the portrait. Looking forward to how this works into the story.
Hmm. Since he is Harry Snape now, Albus must have been convinced to let Severus raise him. I'm glad he ended up in Gryffindor since having his dad as head of house would make it hard for him. I hope we will have some scenes with interaction between father and son.
Interesting starting point for Severus - after the Potters' deaths. I'm looking forward to finding out how Albus deals with Snape's decision to take Harry and raise him.
Good first chapter. I love second chance stories. I especially liked Severus' thoughts before he returns. If anyone deserves a second chance it's Snape.
