Simply lovely.
Author's Response: Thank you for saying so. Writing this story meant so much to me. I don't think anyone who lived through the Boston Marathon bombing will ever forget it, even if we only saw it on television. And those three yellow balloons... Many thanks for reading and reviewing!
This was a beautiful tribute to a dark and senseless loss of life, spate of injuries, and shaken sense of safety. The incident was close to home for us. Your story was a moving reflection on the oft-used phrase, “better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all”. This one will sit with me in the best way. Thanks for sharing your lovely tribute.
Author's Response: In a situation that left so many of us feeling so helpless, I did the only thing that I could do: try to offer a glimmer of hope. Thanks for reading and reviewing. 🌄

Lovely story and very fitting! I must say I had to giggle at the last part I couldn't get the image of Mary Poppins out of my head! He should have had a carpet bag!
Author's Response: I laughed out loud when I read your comments! I couldn't figure out which was funnier-- Mary Poppins or Snape with a carpet bag! It kind of raises a question: If Snape had a magical carpet bag, what items would he carry in it? Many-flavored medicine potion would be a no-brainer, but what else...? Hee! Many thanks for reading and reviewing! :-)
Brilliant, Shadow! Really enjoyed this :D
Author's Response: Thank you! As always, I enjoyed writing it; just wish the circumstances could have been happier, but if they had been different, I might not have received the same inspiration. One of those things... // I'm writing this response the morning after the second bomber was captured-- after seeing security camera footage of the brothers carrying their backpacks past the crowd at the finish line, I saw a woman in turquoise unknowingly walking just ahead of them. Whoa! She had no clue what was behind her! But when she turned sideways, I got goosebumps when I saw she was carrying 3 yellow balloons at waist level-- were those the SAME balloons??? And what happened to that lady? My head is absolutely spinning... Geeeee... // Anyway, glad you liked the story, and thanks for reviewing! :-)
Beautiful!
Author's Response: Thank you very much! And as I write this, they have managed to capture the surviving bomber, so that's the best news in 4 days! Glad you liked the story, and thanks for the review!
Glad Snape could still billow after death. Seriously, though, that was beautiful - you managed to leave me with damp eyes and a smile on my face.
Author's Response: Snape will billow forever in my heart! And I did have to leave a little surprise at the end! I love misty-eyed endings myself, but they have to be accompanied by smiles! Thanks for letting me know it worked on you! Hee!
Very beautiful and moving.
Author's Response: Thank you for saying so! Whenever I put a story out to the public, I never know beforehand how it will be received, but when you take the time to review (especially when it's a positive response!), it absolutely makes my day! Thanks again!
That was really good. I cried through the whole thing but it was really really good.
Author's Response: Awww! So sorry you suffered through a sobfest, but I'm glad you thought the story was good anyway! Wow-- it amazes me when I get a review that lets me know how deeply my writing has affected someone! Thank you so much! *passes tissues*
