I love this, especially that it's from Severus' pov, to be able to see his annoyances,his worries, the insecurities, his relationship with Lily, and the jealousy, the confrontation with Dumbledore, and of course the growth in him.
Not to mention Harry's building relationship between both his new grandfather and his new guardian, and Harry's growth.

The inclusion of this chapter makes sense. There is much that hangs heavy in the air that Severus and Dumbledore needed to address.

Thanks for the powerful and moving chapter.
I enjoyed seeing this side of Severus. It humanizes him, and allows us to feel his conflict.
I appreciated Harry’s somewhat confused and subdued reaction to Severus’s news. I thought it was much more realistic than an outburst would have been, given Harry’s raw and vulnerable state. I also like the additional context that the flashbacks provide.
