Excellent opening chapter. It was very realistic that Harry would obey the Dursleys out of conditioned fear, over a stranger.
That was a surprising twist. I wonder what Snape was doing when Harry interrupted him?
That must have been a slap in the face for Harry. Snape was at least decent when he picked Harry up from the Dursleys. After seeing Harry's lousy home life, I would have expected him to be more sympathetic.
Draco's appearance on the train was unexpected. Ron was fairly accepting about Draco, too. I liked that Harry stressed giving someone a chance rather than believing rumors.
I really liked the way you described the Weasley house. It sounds like a place that Harry would enjoy. Except maybe for the twin's pranks. Severus seems as snarky as ever. I wonder how long it will take him to warm up to Harry?
I wonder what Severus will so about Harry's situation with the Dursleys? He must be cursing Albus for getting him into this mess. Speaking of messes, I wonder why Snape didn't just use magic to clean Harry up after he dropped ice cream on his new robes?

This was absolutely wonderful! I love how you've written this. Especially how Severus and Harry's relationship evolves into this wonderful one. And how Draco is nice and level headed and gets to be with his friends in the end. I just hope that his dad will understand. You're a brilliant author and writer. I am so happy my twin sent me this story so I could enjoy as much as she does. Cheers and ta. PS: if I could I would rate this 30.
Wonderful stuff. I'm off to the sequel.

Interesting story so far. I really like what you've done with Snape's visit to Harry and Snape's reaction to the realization that Harry was troubled. It was quite realistic.
