Interesting story so far.. dog house... who would've thought there could be something worse then a cupboard.. yikes. I apprciate the map/layout of the house at the end.

I really liked this! It is nice that nothing happens all of sudden (a big problem with many abusive!Dursleys -fanfics) and there is room for characters to develop. I also liked how you decided that there must be a therapist to help Harry given his horrible situation.
I hope you'll keep on writing. :)
Author's Response: thank you! I do plan on continuing to write it, the update has just taken quite a while with school and life. It should happen eventually though.

I really like that this story has moved on from the abuse and is focusing on recovery. It's also great that a professional therapist has been brought in and Sev has some training to deal with issues of abuse.
Author's Response: Thanks in so glad you like it! I wanted Severus involved in the recovery, so I wanted him to have some experience, but I didn't want to deviate too much from canon and make him a complete professional. And it would be completely unrealistic to not have some kind of professional helping Harry. The rest of the story won't focus too much on therapy itself but definitely on the recovery. Drawing out the abuse does not make sense in my mind, it doesn't make as good a story. I'm thinking about posting a couple scenes that I had thought up in the course of writing though. I expect only about 4 chapters more for this story though, which means we'll be skipping some through time, so it won't be an incredibly detailed recovery I guess. Hopefully no one minds. Lovely chapter, I loved the idea of Harry drawing his fears and frustrations, wonderful therapy!
Author's Response: Thanks I'm so glad you like it and my idea! I'm no clinical psychologist, and I don't know much about child therapy, but I believe this is relatively common method, using drawings. I'm sure I've actually probably described it pretty far off the mark, but hopefully it at least seeeeems realistic to anyone who isn't a child psychologist. At least that's my hope.
