Wow! What a great start to your story! In the past, I didn't like reading fics where Harry gets sorted into Slytherin. It's stories like yours that made me change my mind :)
It's so sad though. The other students harassing Harry and Snape caring for him only because of his long lost love Lily. I hope it gets better for Harry and Severus starts to see him more for himself.
Snape and Harry resume Occlumency lessons in book six, with significantly different results. Harry grieves for Sirius (rather than getting over his death impossibly quickly). Things... ensue...

I'm so sorry for not reviewing on earlier chapters! As a writer myself I know how reviews can keep you motivated. But your story was such a page turner! I just clicked the next chapter without reviewing because I wanted to know what happened next. I liked the story very much! Your writing is excelllent and the evolving relationship between Harry and Snape is so well done! It's not rushed or anything it's just perfect! Thank you so much :) I also enjoyed your description of Occlumency and the talks they had in each other's minds.
I'm sad to see that this story wasn't updated for so long and I don't know if you're still around. Let me just say that I'd love seeing this updated but even without further chapters this story is awesome!

I agree with the other reviews: you could easily make this into a longer story. I just loved Harry and Severus interacting as son and father. So heartwarming! And I would just love to read more about Snape's different personas as professor and dad and him having to keep his relationship with Harry a secret. So much potential!

- Thank you so much! This is a fantastic story! It has all the right ingredients for this type of fiction but you also bring in new and exciting ideas. I like Severus as Harry’s brother and his initial reluctance to do anything and his growing feeling of responsibility. The pace of your story is really just exactly right. I also love how you included Theo and showed that a friendship between Gryffindors and Slytherins is possible.
I have read this story like two or three times already but for the last chapters I’ll reread it!
A serious charge is brought against Harry Potter, the strange boy with no social skills. Severus realizes that though he sees no redemption for himself, there may exist some for others.

Hey, I've come back to read this a few times over the years because it's so so good and well written! I liked the pace of this chapter a lot. At first you see the teacher's reaction which heightens the anticipation of what had happened. I really like your Harry too and that he is friends with Luna. It's really something different and original from other fics. Lastly I really like how you kept everything in Severus' POV. Thank you!

I like how your Snape stays in character so much though he slowly changes his perception of Harry. I like how he justifies it with the task Dumbledore gave him but I'm looking forward to Severus maybe really changing not just under pretence. Also your writing is fantastic! They are some sentences that just have such an impact and are full of meaning. Also, I liked the idea that Snape having to get to know Harry is a kind of last resort and not just for Dumbledore's amusement.

An awesome story! I love how Severus reflects upon his own childhood and how he changed with age and how the things he tries to forget are actually the things that shape him. It rings true to me.
Also, I liked how Severus finds merit in the cold season. I quite like the winter myself. Everything is a little bit calmer.
To learn more about careers in the wizarding world, all third year students are required to interview a professor about what led them to becoming a professor or master of their craft.

I liked your story a lot!
I feel like it's really difficult writing short storys that come like full circle within themselves? You know what I mean? The end was just perfect!
Your whole story was so well done! I liked how Harry's questions were triggers for Severus' thoughts. Also I like that your story could be canon. I loved the insight to Severus' character that you give us.

Desperate to save his family after learning about the prophecy, James decided to take the Dark Mark; figuring he couldn't defy the Dark Lord as a loyal Death Eater, right? This simple change allowed Lily to survive but he died in the battle allowing Voldemort to take over the Wizarding World.
Harry's now sixteen years old and growing up as a Death Eater's son under Voldemort's oppressive regime has challenged him in ways no one expected, most of all his stepfather, Severus Snape. With the war on Muggles on the horizon, Harry - determined to fight - and Snape, doing whatever possible to keep Harry safe from the prophecy while coming to terms with his own guilt over James's death, must find a way to come together to rid the world of the Darkest Wizard of their time.

Often the Story of the Moment box has brought me back to some good stories I read some time ago. Yours isn't an exception. I remember I liked the story the first time because it had some really clever and fresh ideas in it and for the feeling it created during reading. Well you didn't disappoint the second time around.
Thanks for a great start to your fic! I liked James going to Severus for help them becoming partners.
One thing though: if Harry was born in July 1980 wouldn't he be four years old in May 1985? I'm really not good at maths though ;)
